Warhammer 40K RPG- Wrath & Glory

Warhammer 40.000 Roleplay: Wrath & Glory has just been released as a PDF by Cubicle 7. This is a new edition of the rulebook.

When I was teenager I played the Warhammer 40K strategy miniature game. I really liked it and pitted my Dark Angels against the hordes of Chaos, the Eldar and the Tyranid my friends collected.

It wasn’t until years later that I discovered the Warhammer 40K roleplaying game, Dark Heresy by Fantasy Flight. That game had some merits, but for some reasons I found it hard to immerse myself in the narratives. I found always found that the 41st millennium was too overwhelming. After all, there was only war!

Recently, Cubicle 7 released their edition of Warhammer 40K roleplaying game. I’ve been browsing through it and I must admit, this book looks and feels so good! Though this is not meant to be a review, I must mention one thing.

I really, really like the design of the book. There are small things, like this chapter overview on every other page, that really help you browse and find things quickly. Which is a huge plus for a book that’s almost 400 pages long.

What to expect from Wrath & Glory?

Wrath & Glory is divided into 12 chapters, that detail character creation, combat, character advancement and so on. In fact, there’s so much information here and so many options that I was at first a bit taken back.

Of course, once you’ve decided on what type of game you are looking for, the number of choices becomes easier to manage.

The game is set in the Gilead System, eight Imperial worlds cut off from the Emperor’s light by the Great Rift. A chapter devoted to exploring the system allows you to tell your own stories in a society beset by daemonic invasion and internal corruption.

I have yet to take a deep dive into the system, but I am planning to do so in the next couple of weeks.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war!

If you wish to get your hands on Wrath & Glory, you can pre-order the book at Cubicle 7 and get the PDF right away. Click here to get the book.
