Chaosium and Drivethrurpg.com announce the Sagas of the North, a community created content for Age of Vikings RPG.
It is no secret that Age of Vikings is one of my favorite TTRPG at the moment. I am an avid fan of the Icelandic Sagas and tend to dig deep into games that portray these great literatures in any way. Pedro Ziviani has created such a great game in Age of Vikings, based on Basic RPG and RuneQuest, which explores Iceland and the Scandinavian world of Vikings to the fullest.
Today, Chaosium along with Drivethrurpg.com announced a community content platform for Age of Vikings, called Sagas of the North.
This platform is similar to other community created platforms by DTRGP, such as DM’s Guild and Storyteller’s Vault, except it focuses solely on Age of Vikings. If you are seeking new modules, game master material, or something similar, you might want to check this out. Also, if you are a content creator who loves running Viking-themed games and have some material lying around, check out the publishing guidelines.
The Darkest Day
There are some great modules already available on the platform. There’s even one by yours truly, called The Darkest Day.
The Darkest Day is a saga of honor, vengeance, and impossible choices set in the frozen reeches of Lake Vesturhóp area of northern Iceland.
Caught in a winter storm near Lake Vesturhóp, the heroes encounter a grieving woman of the Hidden People who demands justice for her slain husband. She claims a farmer of Vatnsendi murdered him and stole a sacred heirloom. If justice is not done before the darkest day of winter, she will awaken the ancient land spirits to bring ruin upon the valley.
Bound by friendship to the accused farmer, the heroes must uncover the truth, navigate pride and sorrow, and prevent a blood feud that could awaken forces older than mankind.
Will they uphold honor and restore balance or will the spirits of the land rise to claim their due?
Feel free to check out Sagas of the North.
